Sunshine – NB UVB MED Calculator

SunShine – NB UVB MED Calculator is an assistant that can help with delivery of Narrow Band UVB for skin treatment, by determining the Minimum Erythema Dose based on the work of Palmer Et al* by using the skin type and sensitivity it will provide a guide for the dosage levels required.

The MED value is auto generated based on the skin type, sensitivity and age; however, the MED can be manually overridden by the user.

The program is created with the Delphi® programming language (a product of Embarcadero®) and is intended operate within Microsoft® Windows Operating System. Development was done using Windows 7 and 10. It will not run on Windows RT and not recommended for Windows 8 (needs to run within the Desktop.) The patient data is stored in an early version of MicroSoft Access database (note: Microsoft Access need not be installed on system.)

Download here for the database (Note this is password protected as it’s not for general distribution). Place all of these files into the same directory (The database can be loaded into a separate directory), to enable the program, you will need to then contact Sakoda to obtain a license key.
