All drop down lists can have the default elements in there list ignored and a user entered text be accepted. Note, for the Skin type, you MUST select one of the drop down options to allow the destimation code to look up the approriate co-effficients to determine the MED. The Date of birth entry will update the age field, based on the system date on the PC at that time. Saving the patient data will record this date, but the age as recorded will be restored and thus the prescribed doseages will be based on the assigned age at that time if the data file were to opened at a later date. The AGE field can be manually entered, and this value will be the age used to determine the MED – Not the date of Birth.
