Nanafushi literally in English is “seven segment”, it is also the Japanese name for a Stick Insect. Here we are working with the old style 7 segment LED display.
Initially, all LEDs show the numbers in the puzzle – clicking refresh will see some segments being switched off and the numbers have their positions shuffled around. The simple option removes 2 segments per display, moderate removes a random number of segments, while difficult removes a random number with at least 2 segments removed.
The aim is keep your score high, while switching on the segments so the intended number is then displayed in yellow. Mistakes are registered as grey segments on the editor display, and your score is reduced.
To alter any segment, you first need to click the smaller display, this will enlarge the LED to allow editing, where you can then switch on or off segments of the display.
